Maryland police investigating after antisemitic graffiti found outside high school

Maryland police have been investigating antisemitic graffiti that was discovered spraypainted on an indication outdoors a highschool Saturday morning. 

“Jews not welcome” was found on a signboard for Walt Whitman Excessive Faculty in Bethesda, Maryland simply after 8 a.m. Saturday, the Montgomery County Division of Police stated in a launch. 

No arrests have been made, police stated, including that it’s the second incident of antisemitic vandalism within the space since final month. 

Investigators are working to get pictures of suspects, police stated.

On Nov. 14, antisemitic graffiti that included swastikas, hangmen and racist language was scrawled on an indication by the Bethesda Trolley Path.

Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., who represents the district and is Jewish himself, condemned the vandalism. 
“Sickened and horrified about one other episode of antisemitic vandalism in our group, at Walt Whitman Excessive Faculty—on Shabbat and simply earlier than Hanukkah,” Raskin wrote on Twitte. “Sending love and solidarity to Whitman college students, households, school and employees. Hate gained’t win in MoCo.”

The graffiti was later lined. 

A letter to the group from the college stated the vandalism gained’t be tolerated, calling it “abhorrent” and “extraordinarily hurtful.”

“Walt Whitman Excessive Faculty will proceed to make use of schooling and restorative practices to interact our college students in conversations about respecting and celebrating our various group,” the letter added.
