• Glenn Ivey has been elected to serve Maryland’s 4th District after defeating Republican challenger Jeff Warner. The seat was left open after Rep. Anthony Brown (D-Md.) ran as an alternative for state legal professional basic.

Previous to being elected, Ivey had an extended profession in legislation enforcement, being elected as state’s legal professional for Prince George’s County twice. In that position, Ivey created a first-of-its-kind Home Violence Prosecution Unit and pushed for stronger witness intimidation penalties

Whereas Ivey has by no means been a lawmaker, he’s labored for lawmakers previously, together with former Senate Majority Chief Tom Daschle (D-S.D.), and former Sen. Paul Sarbanes (D-Md.).

Extra not too long ago, Ivey began his personal legislation agency, Ivey & Levetown, in 2020, which focuses on civil litigation, legal protection and investigations.
