Maryland day care owner allegedly shot husband in DC hotel, claims he molested children

Police say a Maryland lady shot her husband on Thursday, then claimed she did it as a result of he had been sexually abusing kids at a daycare she owns.

The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Division arrested Shanteari Weems, 50, after they responded to the Mandarin Oriental Lodge and located her husband affected by a gunshot wound.

“He is a baby molester,” Weems allegedly instructed police once they arrived outdoors her resort room and requested if anybody inside had been shot, Fox5DC reported.

Weems allegedly defined to officers that she and her husband had been married for 5 years and reside in Baltimore, the place she owns a day care in Owings Mills. Police say she stated a number of mother and father of kids on the facility accused her husband of abusing their children.

The Baltimore County Police instructed Fox5DC that their detectives are “monitoring the latest developments” concerning the accusations in opposition to Weems’s husband and that the daycare is closed whereas they conduct an investigation.
