The 65,000-square-foot facility is in Bothell, Washington, residence to a number of tech and Pharma corporations together with Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Panasonic and Seagen (previously referred to as Seattle Genetics).



The brand new location will home IonQ’s second quantum information middle, and be the first manufacturing engineering location for the corporate.

“The Seattle area has been a hub of tech innovation and manufacturing for many years, and has the expert workforce we have to design, construct and manufacture or quantum computer systems,” stated IonQ president and CEO Peter Chapman. “As we deliberate our enlargement, the Seattle space was a really perfect possibility for our new facility.”

The announcement was hailed by U.S. Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), an early proponent of the CHIPS and Science Act, and Congresswoman Suzan DelBene, who represents Bothell and Washington’s 1st Congressional District.

Final 12 months, IonQ and the U.S. Division of Power’s Pacific Northwest Nationwide Laboratory introduced a public-private partnership had resulted in a sustainable provide of barium qubits, used to fabricate barium-based quantum computer systems.
