MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Northeast Louisiana is well represented in the 2024 LHSAA boy’s basketball playoffs with over 25 area teams fighting for a state championship Richwood and Union battled it out on the hardwood for a chance to advance to the second round. It was a shootout from beginning to end but the Rams ultimately hold off the Farmers to advance, 51 to 46. In non-select division one, Ruston hosted Barbe at Memorial Gym and the Bearcats didn’t even break a sweat, winning 62 to 34. On the other side of the bracket, Neville held on to beat Sam Houston, 56 to 49. West Monroe had one of the biggest upsets in the first round, beating Mandeville on the road, 50 to 40. Many other northeast Louisiana squads advanced such as Madison, Jena, Delhi, Claiborne Christian, Delhi Charter and Choudrant.
