Louisiana volunteers head home following deployment to Hurricane Ian disaster zone

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A gaggle of Louisiana volunteers is headed house after spending weeks in Florida’s Hurricane Ian catastrophe zone.

The group of greater than 10 members has been in Florida since Thursday, Sept. 29, and consists of volunteers from the Louisiana State Hearth Marshal’s Workplace, the Baton Rouge Hearth Division, and the St. George Hearth Division.

The volunteers have spent most of their time within the hard-hit Fort Myers space. Throughout their deployment, they’ve helped handle the operations of 100 fireplace personnel and helped to maintain the general public secure from the risks of mills. Officers stated there have been zero generator-related conditions.

In accordance with the Louisiana State Hearth Marshal’s Workplace, the Louisiana group of volunteers is handing over obligations to a bunch from the New York Metropolis Hearth Division.
