Southern Kentucky school district delays classes after inmates escape

CASEY CO., Ky. (WKYT) – Casey County Colleges delayed for one hour Thursday morning after two inmates escaped the native jail.

Casey County Jail officers confirmed to WKYT that two feminine inmates escaped.

Superintendent Barry Lee says district was positioned on a one-hour delay to make sure scholar security. In addition they hope to have extra info at daylight.

“With this erratic habits from the inmates, we can’t take an opportunity of an inmate getting on a college bus and jeopardizing the security of our college students and workers,” Lee stated.

The district is ready for extra info from the Casey County Sheriff’s Division and Liberty Police Division.
