The week of the Battle of the Governor’s Cup is here but with a little bit of a role reversal. The Kentucky Wildcats have been dominating the series as of late, winning four straight dating back to 2018 and five of six since 2016.

This season, however, has gone off the rails for Kentucky. The Wildcats have lost five of their last six games after starting 5-0 and ranked in the top 20.

Louisville comes into the game with their best record since Lamar Jackson’s Heisman campaign season in 2016, in which they entered the game with a 9-2 record.

After a disappointing season, Kentucky and Mark Stoops have one last chance to salvage the wreck by going into L&N Stadium and dashing the dreams of a top-10 Cardinals team.

Louisville has a chance to complete its best season since 2006, and hope things fall in place for a potential College Football Playoff berth.

This is a rivalry game. Take records and throw them out the window. Take prior losses or wins and throw them out the window. Anything can happen in the battle for the Governor’s Cup.

Will Louisville win and cover as seven-point favorites? Will the Cats cover or even win? Let us know in the poll below and in the comments section!
