Liberty University students return from providing disaster relief in Kentucky

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty College college students returned from Jackson, Kentucky on Sunday, the place they spent three days offering catastrophe aid after final month’s flooding.

The group helped take away particles and met with householders.

The scholars have been a part of the LU Serve Now program and partnered with Samaritan’s Purse.

“We talked to a lady, and that is the second time her home flooded. It had solely been a month since she moved in, and her home flooded once more. So, it’s a tough scenario,” mentioned Hazel Van Dyk, a Liberty College pupil.

“The enjoyment [homeowners] had in them and the gratitude that they’d, after going by means of what they went by means of, it taught me so much,” mentioned Abigail Flynn, one other LU pupil.

Extra LU college students will journey to Mayfield, Kentucky in October to assist rebuild after final 12 months’s twister.
