Liam Coen among candidates for the Syracuse head-coaching position
Saturday night did not go as planned for the Kentucky Wildcats in their loss on the road to South Carolina.
To pile more on top of the loss, there is a world where the Cats are making yet another offensive coordinator hire for the fourth straight year.
On Sunday, Syracuse fired Dino Babers after eight seasons, ending his era with a 41-55 overall record.
After the news broke, ESPN’s Pete Thamel tweeted out a list of early names for Syracuse in no particular order. That list of 11 names included Liam Coen.
The others on the list were Jason Candle, Bronco Mendenhall, Doug Marrone, Tony White, Al Golden, Curt Cignetti, Jim Knowles, Sean Lewis, Bob Chesney, and Teryl Austin.

There is no doubt that Coen is going to be a head coach somewhere in football someday. But losing Coen after just one season once again and having to have a fourth consecutive offensive coordinator search would be brutal for Kentucky.
