Labor Day parades happening today in Paducah, Metropolis

Labor Day festivities today include parades in Paducah and Metropolis this morning.

The 48th Annual West Kentucky Labor Day Parade and Celebration will be held in Paducah.

Paducah’s parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Broadway, beginning at 2nd Street and ending at 19th Street.

After the parade, the celebration will continue at Carson Park from approximately 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
 
Festivities will include music by Tony Logue, and Jordan Skoda & the Damwrights. There’ll be carriage rides, inflatables and the Lone Oak Lions Club train. There’ll also be several food vendors, kids games.

The flea market at Carson Park welcomes any vendors of yard sale items, crafts and family friendly aftivities. There’s no fee and no registration. Charities and clubs are welcome to participate as a fundraiser. You can set up a booth for free in the flea market area between 7am and 11 am before the celebration gets underway.

The Metropolis Labor Day parade is slated to begin at 10 a.m. Lineup begins at 9 a.m. at the Massac County Courthouse with the parade route proceeding down Fifth Street.

The city invites any businesses, churches, government officials, schools, clubs, farmers, and others to take part.
