Kentucky vs. Georgia 2024 date reportedly confirmed; will be their earliest matchup in a season ever
The 2024 SEC football schedule won’t be announced for several more weeks, but we already have one confirmed date for the Kentucky Wildcats, and it’s a big one.
According to Dawgs 247, Kentucky will host the Georgia Bulldogs on September 14th, which is Week 3. This will come after Georgia’s first two games vs. the Clemson Tigers (Week 1) and Tennessee Tech (Week 2).
This will be unofficially dubbed The Brock Vandagriff Bowl after Kentucky just landed the former Georgia backup QB.
Historically, the Wildcats have always faced the Dawgs in October or November. This will be the earliest the two SEC East teams have ever played. It’s also just the second September game they’ve ever had, the last coming September 19th of 1942, according to Georgia’s official website.
We can likely chalk this up due to divisions being wiped away, which means old scheduling tendencies could be largely erased moving forward.
Kentucky also has confirmed dates for the nonconference games, which come Week 1 vs. Southern Miss (August 31st), Week 4 vs. Ohio (September 21st), Week 11 vs. Murray State (November 16th), and Week 13 vs. the Louisville Cardinals (November 30th), per FBS Schedules.
