Kenneth Horsey declares for 2024 NFL Draft

Kenneth Horsey is ready for the next level.

Wednesday, Horsey announced he was declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft, officially ending his Kentucky Wildcats career.

While he didn’t specifically say it, it sounds like Horsey will not play in UK’s upcoming bowl game.

Horsey has been one of the most inspirational stories in college football since arriving at UK as a class of 2018 recruit. He redshirted in his first year after undergoing open-heart surgery and went on to make a full recovery.

In 2019, the 6-foot-3, 311-pounder returned to the field and appeared in four games. The following year saw him win the 2020 Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year Award after starting in eight games at guard.

Then in 2021, Horsey started in all 13 games for a Kentucky team that went 10-3 and won the Citrus Bowl.

The following year, Horsey was elected a team captain and started 12 games.

Unfortunately, this season saw Horsey limited to six games after battling injuries throughout the year, but he still will go out a winner after helping the Cats finish 7-5 following Saturday’s monster win at No. 10 Louisville.

So to recap, Horsey’s time in Lexington saw him be part of two 10-3 teams, six bowl teams, five winning seasons, four wins over Florida that included the streak ending, a win at Tennessee for the first time since 1984, and five wins over Louisville.
