Friday Headlines: Chad Johnson Sounds Interested in Kentucky Football WRs Job

Published

on

Any sports fan is likely familiar with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. The former Cincinnati Bengals star played 11 seasons in the NFL (10 with the Bengals) and put together four All-Pro campaigns. Johnson led the NFL in receiving yards during 2006 and is now in the Bengals Ring of Honor. But why is all of this relevant today?

Johnson’s daughter, Cha’iel Johnson, is a freshman track star at the University of Kentucky. Like any dad, it’s likely Ochocinco would gladly welcome more time spent with his daughter in Lexington.

Oh, and the Kentucky Wildcats happen to have an opening with the wide receivers coach.

The Courier-Journal reported that now-former WRs coach Scott Woodward will not return in that position next season for Kentucky. So, now that the university has posted a job listing for that position, it does make sense that Ochocinco could potentially be a candidate.

It also sounds like Johnson has an interest in working his way to the NFL level as a WRs coach. Kentucky would be a good place to start, and considering the level of talent the Wildcats have at receiver with Barion Brown and Dane Key, that could very well be enticing for Johnson to work with such special players.

Still, this looks like nothing more than a fun idea at this time.
