LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Ladies who served within the navy will take a historic journey this weekend.
Honor Flight Kentucky will ship its first all-female group of veterans to Washington, D.C. on Saturday.
The group was honored throughout a reception in Frankfort Friday night forward of the journey.
The flight was timed to fall throughout the identical weekend as “Ladies Veterans Day.” Greater than 130 girls from throughout the state are making ready to take the historic journey to the nation’s Capitol.
“It is going to be a visit of a lifetime, so I’m simply thrilled understanding that these girls are going to stroll away saying it was among the finest weekends of their lives,” Ashley Bruggeman, with Honor Flight Kentucky, mentioned.
Additionally on Friday, the Kentucky Historic Society additionally showcased an exhibit on Kentucky’s girls veterans known as “Our Story, Our Lives.”
