‘Bogus Beggar’ arrested in Eastern Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Gary Thompson, often known as ‘The Bogus Beggar’, was arrested Saturday in Jap Kentucky.

In accordance with our sister station, WYMT, officers with the Pikeville Police Division stated they obtained complaints about Thompson earlier within the week of their area.

‘The Bogus Beggar’ is dealing with legal trespassing, soliciting illegal compensation, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest expenses.

He’s being held on the Massive Sandy Regional Detention Middle.
