12 Kentucky counites chosen for post-election audits

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Twelve counties have been randomly chosen to endure audits following the 2022 common election, Kentucky Lawyer Normal Daniel Cameron mentioned.

Submit-election audits shall be performed in Jefferson, Webster, Shelby, Rowan, Oldham, Laurel, LaRue, Owen, Anderson, Christian, Daviess, and Breathitt counties, Cameron mentioned Monday in a press release. The Lawyer Normal’s Division of Legal Investigations will decide if any irregularities befell through the election.

Lawmakers determined through the 2022 legislative session to broaden the lawyer common’s unbiased inquiry of potential election irregularities from not fewer than 5% of Kentucky counties to not fewer than 12 counties.

After the audits are accomplished, findings shall be introduced to a grand jury and the chief circuit choose of every county.
