Lawyer says Georgia man set for execution should be spared
ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) – The lawyer for a Georgia man scheduled to be executed subsequent week says her shopper has important cognitive impairments that probably contributed to his crimes and has suffered horrific abuse in jail.
She argues which means his life must be spared.
Virgil Delano Presnell Jr. killed an 8-year-old woman and raped her 10-year-old pal after abducting them as they walked dwelling from faculty in Cobb County, simply outdoors Atlanta, on Could 4, 1976.
He’s scheduled to be executed Tuesday.
The five-member parole board, which is the one authority in Georgia that may commute a dying sentence, has scheduled a closed-door clemency listening to Monday to contemplate his case.
