First Responders Exposed to Substance at Crash, Hospitalized

ELLIJAY, Ga. (AP) — Seven first responders in northern Georgia have been hospitalized after being uncovered to an unknown substance whereas they have been at a crash scene, authorities stated.

Gilmer County Hearth Rescue models have been despatched to the single-vehicle crash Thursday night the place the responders discovered a pickup truck that had hit a tree, County Public Security Director Keith Kucera stated Friday in an announcement.

The emergency crews handled the 2 individuals who have been within the truck for trauma-related accidents.

Two sheriff’s deputies and 5 emergency medical companies employees suffered publicity signs from an “unknown managed substance” that was within the automobile, based on Kucera.

They have been taken to hospitals for therapy and have since been launched. Kucera stated the incident is below investigation.
