Overlook the AP prime 25 or the Coaches Ballot or the School Soccer Playoff rankings: let us take a look at the actual 10 greatest groups heading into Week 4.

In concept, staff(s) in these rankings ought to beat the staff(s) ranked decrease and lose to the staff(s) ranked greater on a impartial subject

10. Utah. This defensive entrance seven continues to be one of the vital bodily in faculty soccer, with a bit extra depth speeding the cross and arguably extra athletic than final season. That energy, mixed with the Utes’ confirmed stealth shifting the ball behind Cam Rising and Tavion Thomas, and this staff ought to be on the forefront of the Pac-12 chase all 12 months.

9. Clemson. There are nonetheless nagging questions on how persistently the Tigers can play offense, however the unit continues to be pulling out dominant wins on the scoreboard. There are some large performs that are not being made downfield, however Clemson has the working sport and the ability within the entrance seven to get this staff again within the School Soccer Playoff race whereas DJ Uiagalalei finds his rhythm deep.

8. Kentucky. Some sluggish offense to start out out, particularly for quarterback Will Levis, however the Wildcats hunkered down at residence and shut out Youngstown State to remain excellent at 3-0. Levis has an NFL arm which ought to pair nicely once more with expert rusher Chris Rodriguez, when he returns on Oct. 1. UK appears just like the stable No. 2 within the SEC East this 12 months.

7. Oklahoma State. A serious offensive displaying for the Cowboys, who constructed up a 42-7 lead going into halftime with Spencer Sanders leaving motion within the second quarter. Sanders matched his profession single-game excessive of 4 TD passes and the Pokes’ offense racked up 538 complete yards. An ideal 3-0 with an off week earlier than an enormous rematch of the Massive 12 title sport in opposition to Baylor on Oct. 1.

6. USC. The connection between Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison appears like the actual factor, however it’s the Trojans’ different blue-chip receiving threats and confirmed success on the bottom that assist open passing lanes for Addison to work in. Defensively, there are sufficient missed tackles and gamers out of place to provide pause, however the takeaways are there, too.

5. Oklahoma. It is no nice achievement to beat Nebraska today, however the Sooners put out by far their most full sport on each side of the ball and pack a punch within the entrance seven that may cling with any group of talent items. Mixed with an elite offensive output behind quarterback Dillon Gabriel and a bevy of targets, and Brent Venables may have this staff in School Soccer Playoff rivalry.

4. Michigan. What we all know concerning the Wolverines is that they’ll transfer the ball nearly at will. What we do not know is that if they’ll do it in opposition to good groups. Michigan’s non-conference slate was as mushy because it comes, capped off by a 59-0 rout over UConn, one of many worst packages in faculty soccer. Early returns on J.J. McCarthy are nice: referred to as a gifted runner, the quarterback has been environment friendly throwing the ball, going 15 of 18 Saturday, and he has loads of assist.

3. Ohio State. Dropping 77 factors on Toledo is par for the course for the Buckeyes, who scored on 10 of their first 11 possessions and rolled up 762 complete yards, their most since 2016. C.J. Stroud is enjoying in Heisman type with a battery of passes which can be nearly unimaginable to defend, mixed with an array of receiving talent that’s arguably one of the best in faculty soccer.

2. Alabama. What a protracted, historic journey it has been for Nick Saban, who misplaced at residence to UL Monroe in Yr 1 and this 12 months blitzed the Warhawks by a 63-7 depend. In between, the Tide gained 6 nationwide championships and have become the all-time dynasty of faculty soccer. This roster is in prime place to make it 7 for Saban at Bama, offered it stays excellent till a possible date with the nation’s premier staff in Atlanta this December.

1. Georgia. Simply pristine soccer from the Bulldogs, who appear to maneuver effortlessly with Stetson Bennett dealing from beneath heart to a forged of talent items that tortured the Gamecocks protection for 48 (simple) factors. Georgia’s entrance seven mauled SC’s line on the opposite aspect, holding Spencer Rattler to nothing with fixed stress. Each week it appears like faculty soccer’s defending nationwide champs have one of the best shot at doing it once more.

Matthew Stafford's wife says she 'dated' his 'backup' at Georgia to make him jealous

Matthew and Kelly Stafford got married in 2015, but just like every relationship, it wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows.

The two met while attending the University of Georgia, and things got off to a rocky start.

“It wasn’t that cute of a relationship at first,” Kelly said on the “Off the Vine” podcast. “I hated him, I loved him.”

But Kelly came up with a master plan to eventually wind up with her future husband.

“I dated the backup to p— him off, which worked – he was the bad boy too,” Kelly revealed. “Matthew’s so sweet and a Southern gentleman and all that stuff. And the backup was the complete opposite, and it upset him.”

Not only were they both quarterbacks, but they were also roommates, according to Kelly.

“They lived in the same dorm room because athletes lived in the same dorm room. He would see my car there. At one point he waited and followed me into the car. I was like, ‘This is amazing, it’s working.’ I was like, ‘Get out of my car.’ He was like, ‘He’s not right for you.’ I was like, ‘What? You can’t tell me that,’” she said.

It’s unknown who Kelly was referring to, but during Stafford’s time at Georgia (2006 to 2008), he played in front of Joe Tereshinski, Joe Cox, A.J. Bryant and Mohamed Massaquoi – out of those four, Cox is the only one to be at Georgia in all three of Stafford’s seasons.

It seems like Kelly made the right choice – Stafford was the No. 1 pick in 2009 and was always one of the more underrated quarterbacks in the league – playing for, at the time, the lowly Detroit Lions, didn’t help his case.

He finally got the recognition he deserved after winning Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams.

Georgia mayor fires police chief, suspends all the officers

WARM SPRINGS, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The mayor of a city in Georgia fired its police chief and suspended the entire police force following a lengthy investigation.

In a social media post, the city of Warm Springs announced that Mayor Robyn Pynenburg fired Police Chief Emilio Quintana and suspended the remaining 13 police officers.

“The decision to terminate Chief [Emilio] Quintana and suspend the police force was made after careful consideration of recent events and emerging concerns regarding the conduct and operations within the department,” city officials said in a social media post Wednesday.

The Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training Council confirmed it’s investigating the former police chief for “unauthorized use of city vehicles and representation as an officer in an unauthorized duty of office.”

In the meantime, the city with a population of roughly 500 people, appointed Aisha Al-Khalifa as interim chief.

As of now, Al-Khalifa is the only person active on the police force.

WANF reached out to Warm Springs Mayor Robyn Pynenburg on Thursday.

Pynenburg declined to answer any questions and said in a text message that she was out of town.

“We’ve been without a police chief before, and we’ve been short-staffed before,” said Gerrie Thompson, an innkeeper in Warm Springs.

Thompson said she formerly served on city council and trusts the mayor had a legitimate reason to fire the police chief.

“It’s not something that’s just a spur-of-the-moment thing. I’m not potentially worried about anything. And I’m sure whatever is going on, they will have it taken care of,” Thompson said.
