PHOTOS: Highlights from Florida’s Game 1 win vs Vanderbilt Commodores

Florida baseball earned a win at home in Condron Family Ballpark on Friday afternoon to take the opener of the penultimate regular-season series against the visiting Vanderbilt Commodores. The fifth-ranked Gators run-ruled the fourth-ranked ‘Dores, 10-0, behind a strong effort by starting pitcher Brandon Sproat as well as a powerful day at the plate.

Deric Fabian led the way on offense in his first start of the spring, driving in a career-high four runs on a 2-for-3 effort that included a home run. Tyler Shelnut went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles while scoring two runs, and Cade Kurland went 3-for-3, reaching base in all five plate appearances for the first time in his career.
