ESPN analysts made their predictions for the Clemson game against Florida State on College Football Live. Sam Acho and Trevor Matich did not agree on which team would get the win Saturday afternoon in Death Valley.
“I think that streak is going to get snapped. Here is the problem. Clemson has not show the ability to have explosive plays on offense. They just can’t do it. And so the pass rush of Florida State is going to make it even harder. Cade Klubnik needs time for receivers that are not particularly dynamic anyway so far this year to get open down the field. He won’t have that time against Florida State,” said Matich.
ESPN analyst Sam Ocho had a different take on the ACC showdown.
“Clemson may not have the explosiveness offensively,” he said. “Let me slow down a little bit because you caught me off guard with that comment. But defensively here is the thing. We know how prolific Florida State’s offense has been but if there is one weakness in Florida State’s offense it is their offensive line. You know that because you are a former offensive lineman. One of the best to ever do it. There are two, their starting left tackle and their starting center. They may or may not play. They have been gone the first two weeks. ”
“Where is Clemson’s strength defensively. It is their defensive line. Guys like Tyler Davis. He is on that line. Guys like Ruke Orhorhoro. He is on that line. So for something to be exploited if you want to stop Trey Benson one of the star running backs for Florida State. If you want to slow down Keon Coleman in the pass game get to the quarterback. Exploit the weakness. So I think Clemson has a better chance than a lot of people give them credit for,” said Acho.
The former NFL center fired back.
“Florida State will just call Duke and say how did you guys do it. Oh wait. Too soon,” said Matich.
