PORT NORRIS, NJ. – The U.S. Coast Guard says their salvage operations following a barge fireplace within the Delaware Bay are full.

Sunday, the CMT Y NOT 6 was faraway from shallow waters off the coast of New Jersey. Salvage consultants and naval architects began growing the restoration plan after the fireplace was extinguished. The vessel’s stability and seaworthiness for transit have been then decided.

The barge was towed beneath Coast Guard escort to its authentic vacation spot in Camden, NJ. The Coast Guard says scrap metallic will probably be faraway from the barge, and later recycled.

“Because of the shut collaboration and coordination between the Unified Command, crews have been in a position to stabilize the vessel and reduce impression to the maritime transportation system and surroundings,” stated Capt. Jonathan Theel, the commander of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay. “Our sturdy partnerships, significantly with New Jersey, have been key to attaining success.”
