Stymied by the pandemic the final three years, the Delaware Symphony Orchestra is celebrating the beginning of its first full season since 2019.

“We’re going to have a season and it’s truly going to begin within the fall,” Music Director David Amado mentioned.

“And we’re going to plan all these items and we’re going to create this arc. We’re going to hope for one of the best that we’re not going to must do all the ring leaping and slalom snowboarding that we’ve needed to do.”

This season marks Amado’s twentieth yr with the symphony.

He mentioned he’s been taking the time to revisit items he did for the primary time years in the past.

“It’s actually fascinating to tug my rating off the shelf and have a look at the issues that I used to be fascinated about, valuing, obsessing over 20 years in the past and the way a lot I’ve modified,” he mentioned.

Highlights embody the world premiere of Jennifer Higdon’s Chilly Mountain Suite, in addition to music from Hollywood blockbusters like “Harry Potter” and “The Magnificent Seven.”

The season features a return to live shows in Sussex County with a efficiency at Cape Henlopen Excessive College.

The 2022-23 season kicks off in September.
