SIDNEY (WBNG)– On July 14, The Cullman Center hosted its fourth Agriculture Day in Sidney.

Sunday’s agriculture day at Keith Clark Park in Sidney was put on by the Cullman Center, a non-profit childcare center that currently serves 160 kids.

The director of The Cullman Center, Amy Williams, told 12 News about today’s event. “We got tons of great stations for kids. Lots of different activities, lots of free giveaways, and just fun stuff for kids to do that are very child-directed”, says Williams. She went on to say how everything at the event had an educational component.

Eventgoers were welcomed to Agriculture Day with an abundance of activities and things to do. Maryssa Wilson, one of the members of the planning committee, told us how there were over 32 stations to enjoy for Agriculture Day, ranging from a goat milking demonstration, a mama cow and a baby cow, a hay mound with a slide going down it, and activities where kids can make their ice cream and butter.

The director of the Cullman Center outlined why events like these are important for children, saying “The more you learn, the more you realize what you want to do, or what you might not want to do”. Williams says by attending today’s event, kids can become interested in careers in farming. “Unless you introduce them, they have no idea how many things are out there”, Williams said.
