Coast Guard, fire agencies respond to barge fire in Delaware Bay – 47abc
BOWERS, Del. – The Coast Guard and native hearth companies responded to a barge fired within the Delaware Bay early Monday morning.
We’re advised watchstanders acquired a name at round 1 a.m. reporting a barge on hearth roughly 9 miles south of Port Mahon. The barge was reportedly carrying family home equipment for scrap. The Coast Guard then launched a 29-foot Response Boat-Small boat crew to help and proceed to observe the scenario. Officers say there are six hearth boats on scene from native hearth companies actively preventing the hearth.
There aren’t any accidents and no proof of air pollution impacting the waterway. Officers say the reason for the hearth is unknown presently.
The Coast Guard has requested all mariners keep away from the realm of the incident.
