$41.6 million deal to clean up Delaware superfund site
The state and federal authorities have reached a $41.6 million settlement with 21 defendants deemed liable for the clear up of a 27-acre superfund web site in Delaware.
The Delaware Sand & Gravel Landfill Superfund Website in New Citadel County has been on an EPA nationwide priorities record for many contaminated websites since 1981.
Between 1969 and 1976, roughly 550,000 cubic yards of commercial waste and development particles, together with not less than 13,000 drums containing hazardous substances, have been dumped within the former sand and gravel quarry.
