The most expensive soccer game in history? The Dallas Clasico has an average price tag of 504 dollars
Real Madrid and Barcelona will meet again this summer in the United States, a Clasico that this year will be played in Dallas and may become the most expensive match in history. Tickets have already gone on sale and the average price for a ticket to Dallas’ AT&T Stadium is $504 (466 euros at the current exchange rate).
Tickets range from $205 to $1,344, not counting 40 tickets in an on-pitch dugout that are priced between $2,500 and $3,102. This is a luxury product that is likely to sell out among American fans, who have always responded to the Clasicos that have been played in the United States. Last year, the stands at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas were packed to the rafters to see Xavi‘s team win 1-0.
Ticket prices for the Clasico are much higher than for the other matches on the Soccer Champions Tour. For example, the price for Real Madrid vs Manchester United in Houston ranges between 136 and 661 euros. And AC Milan vs Barcelona in Las Vegas, between 99 and 498 dollars. There is no doubt that the Clasico is the game that attracts the most attention in the United States.
Tickets for the Qatar World Cup final cost between 200 and 1,600 euros, very similar prices, although the average price was 400 euros, since category 1 tickets (the most expensive) were not available.
A spectacular stadium
The AT&T Stadium where the Classic will be played is located in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys, with capacity for 80,000 spectators. With a retractable roof that goes from side to side of the stadium and can be opened and closed in 12 minutes, it also has the largest screens in a sports venue, with more than 1,200 square meters of surface area. It measures exactly 55 meters wide by 22 meters high.
