South Dallas community activist Kirk Myers-Hill died on Tuesday

South Dallas nonprofit and LGBTQ chief Kirk Myers-Hill died on Tuesday.

Myers-Hill was discovered unresponsive at his workplace on the 2300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in South Dallas Tuesday morning. Myers-Hill died on the scene and the case is being investigated as an unexplained loss of life, in line with Dallas police.

Myers-Hill, in response to the well being disparities of the Black LGBTQ group in Dallas County, based Abounding Prosperity Inc., in 2005, alongside his mom Irene H. Trigg-Myers, who died in 2018. The nonprofit offered individuals with HIV/AIDS and STI screenings, assist teams and academic providers. Myers-Hill was additionally the president of Dallas Southern Delight, an annual celebration of the Black LGBTQ group.

In honor of his mom, Myers-Hill led the trouble to rename Kimble Park within the Queen Metropolis neighborhood of South Dallas because the Irene H. Trigg-Myers Prosperity Park on March 15. The park may even be renovated so as to add extra community-focused options, resembling seating areas and strolling trails.
