Sacramento Kings vs Dallas Mavericks Prediction, Odds and Picks

Fresh off his 43-point masterpiece and taking over as the NBA’s leading scorer, De’Aaron Fox takes his Sacramento Kings on the road to Texas for a date with the Dallas Mavs. The Kings are on a 5-game win streak, but the oddsmakers don’t have a lot of faith in them tonight as they enter the game as 1.5-point underdogs. That’s a little surprising to me considering this team is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 games vs Dallas and has covered in 9 of their last 11 visits to American Airlines Center. Kevin Huerter might miss this one, he’s questionable with a finger injury, but the Kings offense has put up 120+ in 4 of their last 5 games so I think they can manage even if he doesn’t play.

The Mavericks gave it their all last night, but it still wasn’t enough as they fell 132-125 on the road in Milwaukee. Kyrie Irving led the scoring with 39, while Luka Doncic added 35, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Dallas actually led entering the 4th quarter, but a sub-par defensive effort in which they allowed 43 points let the game slip away. With so much energy wasted last night, playing a fast paced team like the Kings isn’t ideal at all. They did finish with a 8-7 record on 2nd nights of back-to-backs last season, but with Maxi Kleber already out, this team is very thin on the glass. Facing a dominant rebounder like Domantas Sabonis just screams trouble to me.

Sacramento is the more in-form team here, they’re also no strangers to winning in games where they are the underdogs with a 2-1 SU record so far this season. To me, it all comes down to energy here. Dallas played a grueling 48 mins at Milwaukee last night, while the Kings had an extra day of rest and a relatively shorter travel from San Antonio to Dallas. I’ll go with the Kings on the Money Line here.
