Mavericks vs Thunder Preview: Dallas looks to bounce back by beating Oklahoma City
The Dallas Mavericks (11-7) host the Oklahoma City Thunder (12-6) Saturday night, starting at 8:00 pm on Bally Sports Southwest. The Mavericks are playing the second night of a home back-to-back after losing an ugly one to the Memphis Grizzlies. Oklahoma City, a strong road team this year with a 6-2 record, are coming off a Thursday night win against the Los Angeles Lakers at home. Here’s the things to know:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks vs Oklahoma City Thunder
- WHAT: Texas vs Oklahoma, but professional basketball
- WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas Texas
- WHEN: 8:00 pm CST
- HOW: Bally Sports Southwest
On the injury front, the Thunder have no issues. For the Mavericks, Luka Doncic is not on the injury report, which is interesting and good. Kyrie Irving is questionable after tweaking his ankle yesterday. Tim Hardaway is still questionable as well, though by the time this publishes there should be more information on both guys. UPDATE: Lots of guys are out
Kyrie Irving (right foot soreness), Tim Hardaway Jr. (back spasms), Dante Exum (personal), Josh Green (right elbow sprain) and Maxi Kleber (right small toe dislocation) will be OUT for tonight’s game against the Thunder.

This is a measuring stick game because the Thunder are legitimately good. They’ve lost one fewer game than the Mavericks largely because they’ve been playing much better teams. If Dallas can pull a rabbit out of a hat on the game, that’d say something about their ability to close out deeper teams. And make no mistake, the Thunder have much more talent and size.
Thanks for hanging out. Check back in during and after the game for our usual coverage.
