Jesus Ferreira scored twice in the FC Dallas victory over Vancouver Whitecaps and is close to reaching a historical record.
The Colombian-born striker is on fire; he has scored eight of FCD’s 15 goals this season.
Jesus Ferreira is very close to becoming an FC Dallas legend.
On Wednesday at Toyota Stadium, the Colombian-born striker scored twice in his team’s 2-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Ferreira reached 44 MLS goals and is two away from tying Kenny Cooper (46) for most in FC Dallas history.
Ferreira scored at 37 and 53 minutes in front of 15,890 fans who stayed after the game to watch on the stadium’s big TV boards the event in which FIFA unveiled the logo of the 2026 World Cup.
Vancouver opened the scoring in the 23rd minute thanks to a colossal mistake by goalkeeper Maarten Paes who, trying to pass the ball to one of his defenders, turned the ball over to Vancouver midfielder Pedro Vite, who fired into the wide-open goal.
Ferreira has scored eight of FCD’s 15 goals this season.
The 22-year-old scored 18 goals for FCD last season and played for the US National Team at the World Cup in Qatar.
FC Dallas’ next game is Saturday at Toyota Stadium against the Houston Dynamo.
