Flight from PIA to Dallas aborts take-off, passengers return to gate

PEORIA (25News Now) – A Dallas-Ft. Worth-bound American Airlines flight aborted its take-off Wednesday.

Peoria Airport Marketing Director Cheryl Sloan says a temperature abnormality was detected on American Airlines 5126 and that the pilot aborted take-off out of an abundance of caution.

Air guard firefighters were called to check the plane out.

The plane taxied back to the gates and everyone deplaned normally.

According to the airport’s flight information, the plane is now set take off at 5:30 p.m.

It is unknown how many people are on board but the plane doesn’t hold more than 75.

No one was injured.
