Dallas police investigating man’s death days after being found injured as a homicide

A man died in a hospital Friday three days after police found him injured and unconscious in Dallas’ White Rock neighborhood.

Dallas police officers responded to a call for service about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 11400 block of Garland Road, police said. When they arrived, they found Jose Vasquez, 42, injured and unconscious.

He was taken to a local hospital, and police began an investigation for an aggravated assault. He died from his injuries Friday, according to police, and his death is being investigated as a homicide.

No additional information was immediately available on possible suspects.
