Dallas Mavericks, Stars among big names at World Series Game 2 in Texas
ARLINGTON — Some of the biggest names in Dallas sports attended Saturday night’s Game 2 of the World Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Here’s who was spotted watching the Texas Rangers play the Arizona Diamondbacks:
Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki and star Luka Doncic were shown on the videoboard, a night after Doncic dropped a “Luka special” on the Brooklyn Nets at American Airlines Center, where Nowitzki was also in attendance.
In posts on the Rangers’ social media accounts, the pair posed wearing Adolis Garcia and Corey Seager jerseys. Doncic has said Garcia is his favorite player.
The Rangers’ posts also included photos of the Dallas Stars and a video of Jason Robertson, the team’s leading scorer last season.
“We’re having a blast,” he said.
In the photos, from left to right, were: Thomas Harley, Radek Faksa, Sam Steel, Joel Hanley, Matt Duchene, Mason Marchment, Tyler Seguin, Jake Oettinger (squatting in red sleeves), Wyatt Johnson, Ty Dellandrea (in red hat squatting), Jamie Benn, Jason Robertson, Nils Lundkvist, Scott Wedgewood and Miro Heiskanen.
Football sportscaster and former NFL tight end Greg Olsen joined the FOX Sports broadcast before watching the game with his son, Tate.
Gov. Greg Abbott handed four-time All-Star third baseman third baseman Adrián Beltré a baseball for the ceremonial first pitch. Beltré threw out the first pitch to Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins, who played with the Rangers for two stints between 1974 and 1981.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson was seen during the game sitting between former President George W. Bush and former first lady Laura Bush.
Bush was also in attendance Friday night, when he threw out the ceremonial first pitch for Game 1.
American softball pitcher and Olympian Jennie Finch and her husband former MLB pitcher Casey Daigle were spotted in the stands. Daigle previously played for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
