9 new food options at Dallas Cowboys games

Macaroni and cheese might not seem like quintessential football stadium food, but it’s been a staple at Dallas Cowboys games for years. The roster of new concessions items to be sold during football games at AT&T Stadium in 2023 include some cheesy delights: brisket and mac and cheese in a bowl, laced with jalapeños and barbecue sauce; and brisket mac and cheese balls, breaded in Bar-B-Q Fritos and fried.

There’s a lot of Texas in both of those bites.

Mac and cheese makes an appearance a third time in the new Lineman Burrito. That’s a 17-inch-long tortilla stuffed with mac, brisket, jalapeño-pepperjack sausage, pico de gallo and candied jalapeños.

Three of concessions company Legends Hospitality’s new items are hot dogs, a stadium stalwart. The BBQ Dog comes topped with brisket, fried onions, candied jalapeños and barbecue sauce. The BLT Dog has a long piece of bacon tucked in the bun alongside a spray of lettuce and sliced tomatoes. And the NY Onion Dog has grilled onions and pico de gallo.

We wonder: Will Jets fans feel at ease at the Sept. 17, 2023 home opener, with a hot dog from their home state?

Unlike baseball neighbor Globe Life Field, the concessions at AT&T are rarely gimmicky. Cowboys food isn’t especially heavy, long or large. Case in point: One of the new concessions items is a simple turkey sandwich with a glow-up of bacon, avocado and bacon jam aioli.

Football fans who want a bite with Mexican influence can look to the new birria quesadilla stuffed with beef, pepperjack and Oaxaca cheeses, or the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos elote.

The stadium will bring back fan favorites like the Cowboys cheesesteak and a menu of plant-based options that have been available since 2021 through a partnership with Paul Quinn College in Dallas. Meat-free options include Buffalo “chicken” nachos; loaded tater tots with plant-based chicken; and a veggie burger.
