Kickoff the holiday season with the Zilker Tree lighting

AUSTIN, Texas — If you’ve been searching for a way to celebrate the Christmas season, look no further than Austin’s Zilker Park, where the 57th annual Zilker Holiday Tree Lighting will take place Sunday at 6 p.m.

You can enjoy live music from The Austin Civic Wind Ensemble and The Austonettes during this holiday tradition.

Food and beverage vendors at the Tree will consist of As Good As It Gets Kettle Corn, Amy’s Ice Cream, JP’s Pancake Company and I Panini.

Composed of 39 streamers, each adorned with 81 multicolored, 25-watt bulbs, the Zilker Holiday Tree stands tall at 155 feet, boasting 3,309 lights in total. A double star is set at the top of the tree.

Parking on site will be available on a first-come first-served basis. Suggested entry is through eastbound Barton Springs Road.

The tree lighting will commence at 6 p.m. on Nov. 26 and the tree will remain up through Jan. 1. More information can be found on austintexas.gov/.
