Congressman Greg Casar hosted the first Fight for our Future Fest at the Parish live music venue Saturday in collaboration with Massachusetts Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and Tennessee State Representative Justin Jones.

The event was hosted to get Austinites excited about working hard to make positive changes in the community.

“Cities like Austin are filled with people who want to see our public schools funded, who want to see workers get paid decently,” Casar said about the event. “We’re bringing together a community of hundreds of folks to plan on how it is that we get to a more progressive Texas.”

The event included live music, food and speakers in attendance to share their passion for making a change.

“It’s important for us to come together and recognize that there’s actually thousands of us across this city that are committed to change,” Casar said. “We’re not going to let one or two tough years get in our way.”

Casar shared his commitment to helping those in Austin and all over Texas by making sure their voices are heard.

“We’re going to make sure we take care of everyday people and turn this into a government that serves everyday people,” Casar said.
