Murder-suicide victims ID’d after being found on Holden Drive

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A 41-year-old and a 43-year-old have been identified as the victims of a murder-suicide on Holden Drive on Sunday evening, according to authorities.

On January 14, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to the 1200 Block of Holden Drive about deceased persons inside a home at 9 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies say they located a female victim, deceased from a gunshot would.

The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Rebecca Williams, 41, who was shot at least one time.

Deputies say they then found a male deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The victim was identified as Michael Williams, 43, was shot at least one time from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the coroner.

Both were of the same address and pronounced dead at 9:50 p.m. The coroner says the autopsies have been scheduled.

While the investigation is still ongoing, News 12 26 will continue to follow this incident as more information becomes available.
