Garrett Elementary unveils new student garden, learning space

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Garrett Elementary School students will plant the first seeds in a new garden and learning space on Tuesday morning.

Officials plan to also hold a unveiling ceremony for their Alston and Young Memorial Stem Garden.

They say it’s a place for students to learn how to grow fruits and vegetables.

The garden is named after two former staff members.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the school located at 1100 Eisenhower Drive in Augusta.
