FEMA disaster recovery center to close in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The FEMA disaster recovery center in Augusta is set to permanently close on Friday.

The center is currently open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

It will close at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

The recovery center is located at 101 Diamond Lakes Way at the Diamond Lakes Branch Library.

There are additional ways to check the status of your application or update your contact information:

  • Online at DisasterAssistance.gov
  • The FEMA App for mobile devices
  • Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. Survivors can also contact the Georgia Call Center Monday through Saturday at 678-547-2861 for assistance with their application.

Earlier this week, FEMA officials were reminding Georgians to answer unknown numbers if they apply for assistance.

FEMA says they are calling applicants to ensure they receive all eligible assistance.
