AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – If you ever need an excuse to get the kids reading, this was a good one.

On Saturday, Cher’s Sisters Only Club held a Dr. Seuss birthday celebration at the Augusta-Richmond County Library.

Children and their parents were able to go to the library and hear from guest readers – including Zayna Haliburton from News 12.

Families were able to play games, read, and enjoy arts and crafts.

The event was meant to encourage people to learn about resources at their local library.

It was held in collaboration with Read Across America to encourage children to read.
