Augusta University split a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader against Flagler College on Saturday, losing the opener, 9-1, before bouncing back to win the closer, 2-1. In the second game, the Jaguars (15-12) scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and held on to down the Saints (15-7).

Senior catcher Cadance Winder led the Jags offense with two hits and one RBI. Augusta had 8 hits total and played a clean game on defense with no errors while turning two double plays.

Sophomore Madalyn Spinks (4-2) tossed a complete game for Augusta, holding Flagler to only four hits while walking two batters, and keeping the Saints scoreless until the final frame when they pushed across their only run.

In the first game, the Jaguars never got the offense going, with only three singles while Flagler pounded out 11 hits, including two homers. The Saints scored three times in the first inning and never looked back, winning 9-1.  Junior pitcher Ansley Gibson (5-4) took the loss for the Jags.
