19-year-old injured in shooting on Tuttle Street in Augusta
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A 19-year-old was injured in a shooting on Tuttle Street in Augusta on Tuesday night.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the 700 block of Tuttle Street at 9:08 p.m. for an individual with a gunshot wound.
Deputies say while on scene, they found a male with an apparent gunshot wound.
Deputies say they treated the victim until Central EMS arrived on scene. The victim was then transported to Wellstar.
The scene is secure, according to deputies. The Criminal Investigation Division also responded to the scene.
The investigation is still ongoing, according to the sheriff’s office.
The shooting comes amid an outbreak of violent crime that’s claimed about 200 lives in nearly three years across the CSRA.
Communities large and small have been affected on both sides of the Savannah River.
