16-year-old charged in fatal shooting of Augusta man
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A teenager has been arrested and charged as an adult in connection with a fatal shooting, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
At 2:03 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to the 2700 block of Woodcrest Drive for shots fired and one victim.
Bernard Correy Freeman Jr., a 16-year-old of the 2700 block of Woodcrest Drive, was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to the agency.
Coroner Mark Bowen says William Wolf, 30, also of Woodcrest Drive, was shot at least one time.
Bowen says Wolf was pronounced dead at Augusta University Medical Center at 2:44 p.m. An autopsy has been scheduled.
