Soldier from metro Atlanta shot and killed at Washington house party
ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) – An active-duty soldier and Atlanta native primarily based out of Washington state’s Joint Base Lewis McChord was shot and killed at a social gathering over the weekend.
On Sunday JBLM recognized the soldier as 25-year-old Military Sgt. Emmett Leviticus Moore. He was a member of 1-14 Cavalry Squadron, 1-2 Stryker Brigade Fight Workforce, seventh Infantry Division.
Based on deputies, Moore was at a social gathering at a house in Parkland Saturday night when gunfire broke out.
Moore died on the scene after paramedics had been unable to revive him, in response to deputies.
The alleged shooter who was on the celebration left the scene, police stated.
Investigators are working to study what led as much as the taking pictures,
No arrests have been made but.
“It’s with a heavy coronary heart that we mourn the lack of Sgt. Moore.” Lt. Col. John C. Tisserand, 1-14 CAV Battalion Commander stated in a press release. “That is an especially tough time for the Warhorse household. Our major mission now’s taking good care of the relations of our fallen Soldier. We additionally respectfully request privateness for Sgt. Moore’s household as they navigate by this tough time.”
