Metro Atlanta officer arrested for searching for exes in police system, GBI says

GREENVILLE, Ga. — A police officer in Greenville, Georgia has been arrested for misusing the police database, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation introduced.

The GBI mentioned Rory Haynes, 54, had been an officer with the Greenville Police Division in Meriwether County since August 2019.

They have been alerted to his potential misuse of the Georgia Crime Info Middle in September 2021.

Investigators say that in his time as an officer, Haynes used GCIC to seek for his ex-wife and ex-girlfriends and not using a official legislation enforcement function roughly 45 occasions.

Looking the names of people in GCIC and not using a official function is a violation of division coverage and state legislation.
