ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) – Residents and enterprise house owners in a south Atlanta neighborhood are upset after a large sinkhole lead officers to shut a busy street on Sunday afternoon.

Officers say a portion of Ira Road close to Gardner Road within the Pittsburgh part of the town is closed after the sinkhole opened.

Based on Atlanta Division of Water Administration officers, the sinkhole “seems to be a possible water most important break that will have brought about the collapse. We now have groups on-site investigating the problem. Water service might quickly be affected for houses and companies within the space.”

There isn’t a official phrase on when the street will re-open.
