Convicted sex offender arrested in Atlanta after 17 years on the run
A convicted intercourse offender who has been on the run for 17 years after making an attempt to rape a girl in Virginia was arrested Friday by U.S. Marshals in Atlanta.
Gustav Schilling had been convicted of dragging a girl into the woods and making an attempt to rape her. He disappeared in 2006 whereas on probation after he confronted new allegations.
Schilling went to a live performance in Henrico County, Virginia, in 1995, in accordance with officers, who stated he was carrying a masks when he grabbed a girl, dragged her into the woods and tried to rape her. The lady managed to flee and advised the police. Later that 12 months, Schilling was convicted of abduction and tried rape.

In 2000, he was launched from jail and positioned on probation. Residents of 1 neighborhood accused him of “voyeuristic conduct.” Officers stated he disappeared after work in August 2006. A warrant was issued for his failure to register as a intercourse offender in September 2006.
Investigators found in 2022 that Schilling was utilizing an alias, David Layton, and that he could have been within the metro Atlanta space.
