20 parks in Atlanta could receive security cameras, lighting

ATLANTA — After crime knowledge in Atlanta parks from 2018 to 2021, Atlanta police partnered with town’s division of parks and recreation to create new safety measures. 

Parks and recreation mentioned Thursday they’ve recognized 20 parks the place there’s an inflow of crime, and reported incidents. They mentioned they are going by means of every park “to determine particular safety measures to incorporate cameras, lighting, and landscaping.”

Parks and recreation mentioned they’ve over 250 cameras of their system presently, and these embrace places in parks, recreation facilities and the Atlanta Beltline and 30 in Piedmont park particularly. 

The division didn’t say what parks they’re for putting in these new safety features. They did say if Atlanta voters handed the Infrastructure Bond in Could 2022, $3 million can be used to put in cameras within the park.
